When a travel cancels their trip, the travel agent will no longer get paid from the resort, cruise, activity, or rental car company etc.
There is time consuming work to book the trip, make changes and contact suppliers. There is also time consuming work to cancel a trip.
The traveler is now required to pay the travel agent company directly to cancel the traveler's trip to compensate for time spent working on the booking.
